Larry is a character in Paper Girls. In the 2022 Amazon Prime series, he is portrayed by Nate Corddry.
Biography[]
Larry is a member of the STF underground. He works with others, like Heck and Naldo, to course correct bad moments in history.
In 2019, Larry talks to Juniper over a walkie talkie- he tells her it’s not going to be open much longer. Juniper sees the Old Watch and warns Larry. He tells her to get out of there and she tells him they made it out of 1988. Larry calls for Juniper on his walkie talkie but it goes silent. A pink light takes over the sky. He leaves a message onto a tape recorder, explaining that he’s a member of the STF underground and that “blue tongues don’t lie”.
Later on, Larry knocks on the door of a house and Juniper answers the door. She asks him where is her food and if he’s from Uber Eats. He tells her no and that he needs her to listen to something- a tape recorder. He plays her a recorded message that she herself left before. She listens and tells him it’s not her. Her memory erases again and she asks for her Uber Eats order from him. He leaves, discouraged.
In 2019, Adult Erin has an STF device which she activates. Larry tracks the device to Erin and takes her, intent on finding out who she is and if she is Old Watch or not. Preteen Erin, KJ, Mac, and Tiff see Larry grab adult Erin and follow him take her to his farm. Larry sees the girls and puts them all in the basement while he tries to decide what to do next. Once the girls explain that they have time traveled and have no idea what STF or Old Watch in, Larry relents a little and has breakfast with them. He shows them his time traveling robot and suggests they go back to 1999.
Erin and the others insist he help them get back to 1988 before going on to 1999 to end the war. Larry agrees and they all get in the robot. They transport themselves to 1999 and the girls realized Larry lied. He screams, "This is for Juniper!", while attacking the Old Watch but he gets laser downed and dies.
Personality[]
Larry is a "nice guy" but also someone who is on a mission. He's not afraid of conflict as he is in a war with the Old Watch.
